If elected, a Matthew Guy Government will contribute more than $100,000 towards the upgrade of much-needed facilities at Berwick Springs Reserve.
This project draws on the Liberal Party’s 2014 election promise to commit $250,000 across the three sporting clubs at Berwick Springs Reserve.
With a high level of population growth in the Narre Warren South electorate, clubs such as these desperately need upgrades to keep up with membership demands.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberals are getting behind cash-strapped local sporting clubs who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:
“A Liberal Government will invest more money for community sport in the city of Casey to manage the demand of a growing population.
“Susan Serey has been doing extensive work in the local community to support the growth at Berwick Springs Reserve and has advocated strongly for this funding.
“Daniel Andrews’ priorities of building a ballroom at Etihad stadium is all wrong. A government I lead will instead spend that money on community sport.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Narre Warren South, Susan Serey:
“As the 2014 candidate, I have promoted this project vigorously after listening to the concerns of the local community.
“If I am elected to represent Narre Warren South, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”
